SYNOPSIS oF SPIRITUAL BOOK CLUB:

  • Start meeting with God Stories

  • Reading of the assigned chapter

  • Discussion of chapter

  • Group meditation

My spiritual book club was started during COVID because we were all in seclusion, feeling alone and disconnected from each other. This is when I discovered Zoom and how we were able to connect with each other, even in different states and internationally. This became a lifeline for us who were spiritually isolated. Slowly this book club has evolved into what it is today.

The purpose of this book club is to read and discuss spiritual books that I have chosen. Currently we are reading and discussing books by White Eagle, but we have covered others in the past. The meeting is both casual and provides a social connection. Currently we meet every Thursday evening from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Pacific time) via Zoom.

The class starts off with people sharing God Stories. This is where we feel that God and the angels were helping us in our daily life, and we acknowledge this divine intervention. Once those have been shared, we start reading the assigned chapters in the book.

Everyone orders the book and then reads the designated chapter before we meet online to discuss it. I will read a section out loud and others in the club may assist with reading the remaining parts of the chapter too. We have found that hearing the material a couple of times helps to get a better understanding of its meaning. Once the chapter is read out loud, we then discuss it. Everyone’s thoughts and opinions are welcomed, encouraged and respected. No one person dominates the discussion because we want to hear from everyone that wants to share their thoughts.

Sometimes during the discussion, Spirit will impress upon me the need for a class “homework assignment.”  This can be an opportunity to explore issues in our own lives that are affecting us today and preventing us from being the best versions of ourselves. They are opportunities for personal growth and healing.

After reading the chapter we then have a guided meditation shared by a class member. This can be a meditation found in a book or created by the participants themselves. We share our experiences with each other after the meditation is finished because sometimes people have tremendous insights. This concludes the class and have our reading assignments for the next class session.
