SYNOPSIS oF SPIRITUAL COUNSELING:

  • Provides emotional support and guidance

  • Compassionate and non-judgmental environment

  • Highly adaptable and tailored for client needs

  • Use a variety of techniques during sessions

Spiritual counseling sessions are offered to help the individual gain clarity on some of the issues and challenges that they may be facing in their lives. Emotional support and guidance to promote a deeper understanding of oneself is provided by using a holistic approach that utilizes the mind, body and spirit connection. Religion and psychotherapy can be powerful partners and during sessions, inclusive and ethical strategies are employed to provide safe, effective care. By integrating traditional psychological methods, metaphysical components with spiritual beliefs, values and aspirations, you can begin a profound journey of growth, self-discovery, and transformation.

A compassionate, non-judgmental and supportive environment is created that allows for deep introspection, emotional healing, and the release of negative patterns that may be holding individuals back from living authentically and joyfully.

Spiritual therapy is highly adaptable and can be tailored for clients with backgrounds from organized religion, eclectic beliefs, or secular practices. Developing coping skills to handle life events and transitions without imposing specific religious doctrines is critical to allowing the freedom to question one’s core beliefs, values, and direction in life.

Some reasons that people seek spiritual counseling are navigating loss or grief, life transitions, anxiety and depression and deconstructing beliefs such as past religious wounds or trauma and building a healthy, authentic, and self-defined spirituality.

Examples of spiritual therapy techniques used during a session can include traditional talk therapy with active listening, prayer, grounding exercises such as guided visualization, meditation, energy work, dream work, psychodrama, inner child healing, forgiveness, reflecting and validating and utilizing one’s own inner wisdom and intuition.

With many years of professional and clinical experience as an ordained Spiritualist minister holding a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Nursing, I will be able to explore the metaphysical and emotional needs of clients within the disciplines of psychology but also within the confines of metaphysics while working towards holistic recovery.
