Philosophy and Principles of Spiritual Healing Classes 1 & 2
Spiritual healing is a topic that is gaining popularity. While, people in general are more familiar with spiritual healing, for many, what exactly spiritual healing is and what principles underlie it remains a mystery. Spiritual healing can be performed on ourselves or on others. While it may seem appealing to visit someone for spiritual healing, research has shown that we can perform absent spiritual healing on others. In addition, regular spiritual practice is also a form of spiritual healing. In fact, appropriate spiritual practice is the most sustainable long term spiritual healing method since it increases our spiritual capacity to overcome spiritual negativity from within.
What is Spiritual Healing?
Spiritual Healing is one of the special phases of Divine Metaphysics which uses the understanding and power of the Natural Universal Laws to impart vital and curative forces to pathological conditions. It is recognized in the New Testament and has been a tenet of both ancient and modern religions.
A human being is made up of three parts: body, mind, and spirit. And, it is the energy of the mind which controls the spirit. And, it is the energy of the mind which controls the condition of these parts.
Constructive mental thoughts create healthy conditions. Destructive mental thoughts create disease condition.
It is stated in the Bible, that the normal condition of an individual is to be perfect and healthy in body, soul and spirit. This is the condition which God has made available for everyone. Therefore, there is always a limitless supply of Divine Healing Energy to help a person achieve perfect health. This Divine Energy and the Natural Universal Laws which control it are what a Spiritual Healer uses with the direction and guidance of higher spirit forces, to help an individual during a healing.
Spiritual Healers work in many different ways, but whichever methods they use, all contains common attributes.
The healers enter into their own silence and meditation to raise their consciousness to the spiritual plane, request spiritual direction and guidance, and tap into the limitless storehouse of God-supply.
They visualize the person receiving healing and request the cooperation of the unseen forces to direct the healing energy to that individual. The healers also visualize the person in perfect health affirming the presence of infinite intelligence; and giving thanks for an influx of peace, harmony and balance. In addition, the healers mentally direct to the individual instructions to attune their own mental energies along positive and constructive pathways.
Although healers can assist an individual by directing healing energies, the success of a healing depends on the faith and desire of the person to use his or her own mental energy positively. Finally, the individual desiring healing need only attune his or her own mind to Spirit so that the forces can operate successfully.
80% of our problems have their root cause in the spiritual dimension, and thus they require a spiritual solution to overcome them. Spiritual solutions to these problems are known as spiritual healing. Given this fact, spiritual healing can help most people to live happier and more meaningful lives.
Most of us are familiar with looking after our physical and psychological wellbeing. However, most of us are not aware that the spiritual dimension has a large impact on us and that looking after our spiritual wellbeing is key to leading a happy life. Taking the spiritual dimension into account by doing appropriate spiritual practice and spiritual healing can help to overcome unexplained problems that many of us face regularly.
We may receive spiritual healing and expect that we will feel better. It is important to keep in mind that the effectiveness of spiritual healing remedies depends on many factors. For example, doing regular and appropriate spiritual practice makes spiritual healing remedies far more effective.
How many of you have heard of someone who has a chronic medical condition that can be controlled with medicine but not cured? Odds are someone in your family or in a friend or colleague’s family has such a condition. The reason this can happen is that up to 80% of the root cause of why a person gets a disease is spiritual in nature. This is why it is important to take the spiritual dimension into account when treating illnesses.
Healing done by a healer under the influence of negative energies can actually harm us at a subtle level. In the case of spiritually positive healers, their ability to heal increases with their spiritual level, because one’s access to Universal positive energies increases as one’s spiritual level rises.
Spiritual healing for its own sake can lead to stagnation of the healer and a decline in their spiritual level with time. Instead, we recommend that spiritual healers focus on healing sincere seekers of God who are in need of spiritual healing. In this way, the healer is helping seekers to make spiritual progress, which is one of the basic purposes of life.
The Spiritual Law of Healing
Within the Spiritual Law of Healing, light is energy. Our physical bodies are made up of the vibration and energy of the consciousness of our souls over many recurrent lifetimes. We are here on the earth-plane to experience life in human form.
Physical choices are made by our souls and higher-selves prior to incarnating.
According to the Spiritual Law of Healing, there are two basic emotions on the earthplane. The first is ‘love’ and the second is ‘fear’. When we resist our chosen experiences through fear we create blocks in our emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. Eventually this causes physical disease (dis-ease).
Inflexible and rigid mental attitudes and beliefs cause both physical and mental tension. If we hold the physical body or an organ of the body in tension, something physical will eventually manifest.
Suppressed and/or denied emotions sit and stagnate within the body until they manifest into a physical illness.
When we fail to acknowledge our higher, spiritual selves, we hinder the supply of Divine energy, and eventually our physical bodies will wither. An illness or dis-ease is caused by stagnant energy.
When we feel inner-joy and happiness the cells of our bodies flow with love and our bodies respond by radiating health. Love is a high frequency energy that keeps our bodies clear and flowing. All manifestations of fear are of a low vibration, and these block the positive flow of energy or ‘chi’.
According to the Spiritual Law of Healing, healing takes place when high-frequency energy flows through our bodies. This transmutes the stagnant energy which caused the dis-ease.
To enact the Spiritual Law of Healing we must always ask for permission before we interfere with another’s energy. There are several reasons why this is important:
The persons’ (whom we are intending to send healing to or perform healing on) illness may be serving their soul in some way, whether they like it or not. It may be a karmic experience and lesson that they may need to learn from.
The dis-ease or illness may be serving a higher purpose for the growth of that persons’ soul and spiritual growth.
The illness or dis-ease is their karma. If they have not learned from the lesson offered by the illness, if we were to ‘heal’ them we may not be serving their spiritual growth and highest good.
The timing may not be right for them to heal (or be healed). Their higher-selves and souls will be aware of this.
The person may have a ‘spiritual contract’ with someone else to facilitate their healing.
It is not up to us as individuals to decide what is or is not for the person’s highest good.
If we are unable to ask permission from the person in question, we are to use our intuition and tune-in to their vibration and higher-self, and simply ask. When we mentally ask for permission to perform healing we will receive a distinct impression of the answer, be it ‘yes’ or ‘no’. If we receive an affirmative answer then we may proceed. If we receive a distinct ‘no’ or a non-distinct answer then we are NOT to send or perform healing.
